2019 Discovery
In our ongoing quest to identify the needs of clients, Medicom Health takes time to constantly explore new HRA developments. In 2019, a common theme shared by clients was a need for a tool to touch on “women’s health.” Given the breadth of the topic though, it is almost impossible to create an engaging, accurate and easy-to-use tool. To that end, Medicom Health will soon be unveiling new, short format tools specific to a single area of women’s health – pre-pregnancy. However, as we continue to develop additional product, we would love to hear from you exactly what your needs are.
March is National Endometriosis Awareness Month
While in the process of evaluating the sub-specialties of women’s health, Medicom Health wants to draw attention to a lesser marketed condition: endometriosis. This is when tissue that lines the inside of a uterus grows outside of it, causing pain. Commonly self-identified symptoms include pain with intercourse, menstruation, bowel movements or urination, excessive bleeding; and often diagnosed by a provider, infertility.
Because of the nature of this condition, women conduct extensive research online before speaking to a health provider. According to the Endometriosis.org platform, it typically “affects an estimated 1 in 10 women during their reproductive years (ie. usually between the ages of 15 to 49), which is approximately 176 million women in the world”. This causes a great reason and an ample opportunity to engage them with an HRA and a customized nurturing follow up plan. In addition, the health system can position itself as a knowledgeable and helpful partner to facilitate care and treatment to provide a solution to their problems.
