As Medicom Health continues to grow as an organization, in partnerships, and within our client/user base, security for our platform and the protected health information within is of the utmost importance. This is why Medicom Health underwent and subsequently earned HITRUST certification. In alignment with that certification, we made changes within the portal to enhance security features granting greater peace of mind.
Has your user ID ever been disabled due to inactivity? If so, you’ve already experienced one of Medicom Health’s new security features. Any user who has been inactive, meaning they haven’t logged into the system for over 90 days, will automatically become disabled.
We understand this change came as a surprise. Going forward, before the system disables any account due to inactivity, users will receive two email notifications. The first of these messages is sent to users 10 days before the account is disabled and the second is sent 1 day before the portal automatically disables the account. As this security feature is built into the framework of the platform by Medicom’s in-house development team there is nothing admin-level users need to set up or enable.
To prevent the system from disabling the user ID, log into the Management Portal. By logging into the portal, the system recognizes user activity and the 90-day countdown clock begins again. Of course, if you happen to forget to login or don’t have time, anyone with admin-level access in the portal has the credentials necessary to enable any user account.
