Portal Feature:Private Health News Integration

October 20, 2018 / Shoua Thao / News, November Newsletter 2018

At Medicom Health, we never stop thinking about our clients. That’s why we’ve come out with many new features this year—and we’re not stopping yet. There’s still one more left! Introducing our newest addition: Private Health News integration.

Today, the Medicom Health Management Portal contains a total of 7 API integrations (Tea Leaves, Evariant, Athena Health, Act-On, Influence Health, Conifer, Marketo, and Private Health News).

Private Health News is an online marketing tool that sends personalized e-newsletters to end-users after they complete an HRA. These e-newsletters are filtered based on users’ interests and contain information that is pulled from hundreds of medically reviewed resources. Once integrated, you can access other valuable services through PHN, such as “My Health Reminders and My Health Reminders For Loved Ones” or “Easy Mail” which you can read all about on their website: http://www.privatehealthnews.com/myhealthenews

What do we mean by “HRA?”

HRA stands for “Health Risk Assessment.”

At their simplest, HRAs ask health related questions and apply algorithms to calculate results to stratify users into groups.

The most popular type of HRAs are those used by health insurance companies.

They often use clunky, lengthy annual HRAs to quickly gather self-reported health metrics and determine how much you might cost them over time. They are not typically designed to help the individual take concrete action.

Our HRAs are different:

  • They are designed specifically to educate and motivate users about a specific health concern.
  • They have very tailored recommendations for next steps which can be edited in the Admin Portal.
  • They are designed to be used on a mobile device– quickly and conveniently.

We believe if you make it easy for users to educate and motivate themselves, they will willingly opt-in to your messaging.
