In our experience, special offers improve HRA completion rates. An added benefit is that you are more likely to get accurate contact information. Generally, they are easy to implement and don’t have to cost a lot.
Typical Special Offers
HRAs featuring special offers as either a gift or an entry for a prize tend to generate higher completion rates. We have seen this many times with our clients. Common sense will tell you that it should also improve honest answers to contact information forms. Examples of successful offers used in the past include: grocery gift cards, Apple watches, spa days, cookbooks, hotel-stay giveaways, and free therapeutic massages. FitBits and other digital activity trackers, gym memberships, etc. are especially appropriate. In our opinion, not nearly enough of our clients use this simple technique to improve their return on investment. We all know that people love free things.
Make It Truly Special
Don’t have much of a budget? Don’t fret! Remember, the best kind of special offers are the ones that are actually special. An especially special way to help people learn more about your organization and the employees who comprise its heart and soul is by generating a staff e-cookbook. Inside can be blurbs about team members, recipe history, health benefits and accompanying photos.
Imagine a cooking contest event where staff members vote on best recipes. Now your team is engaged and by sharing event results on social and/or in blog posts the community is engaged too. In addition to a staff-cookbook, by sharing a one recipe a week you’ve got guaranteed content for the community. The trick to making special offers truly special is adding the heart of your team to the mix if at all possible.
Third Party Solutions
If you want help, there are also companies that can help manage prizes. Amazon Giveaways and others can do the heavy lifting for you. You can also use things like Starbucks e-cards that only require an email address.
