PAD Your Heart and Vascular Campaigns

Hey, cardiovascular service line marketers! Did you know September is PAD Awareness Month?

You have Heart covered. You have Stroke covered. But what about PAD? Do you even REALLY know what it is? Take advantage of PAD Awareness Month to educate your consumers on this condition and their possible health risks.

Medicom Health’s Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) HRA is valuable tool in helping people better understand the condition. They can discover whether they are at risk. You can inform them if treatment is an appropriate next step. Our HRA works well in conjunction with other heart and vascular calls-to-action. For example, it provides another tool for you to capture actionable data on your consumers. Specifically, recommendations at the end of the HRA inform the consumer if follow-up screenings would be advisable.

PAD Is A Serious Disease

If left untreated, PAD can progress and lead to severe leg pain and suffering, can result in unnecessary limb amputations and can also increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. The American Heart Association tells us PAD affects more than 8.5 million American adults and many are unaware. In fact, 1 in 5 people over the age of 65 is diagnosed with PAD each year.

Risk Factors include:

  • A history of smoking
  • Diabetes
  • Advanced age
  • High blood pressure
  • Excess Weight
  • A family history of PAD
  • High cholesterol
